<sound of tumbleweed blowing by> What new jeff mills? *Lots* of good stuff on the techno tip right now though.. Of note and of relevance to the above comment - I scored a copy of alka's upcoming force inc./resopal album. It's a good debut that seems equally comfortable referencing the palettes popularized by Jeff Mills or James Ruskin as those of Kit Clayton. It makes for an interesting listen.. Also making me twitch in a rather enthusiastic manner right now is sutekh's new album. For everyone that either complains that live techno is boring or that minimal techno doesn't make sense in an unmixed CD format this should serve shut you up. It's deep as fuck and chalk full of groovy tracks that are overflowing with interesting source sounds (some borrowed from the likes of chessie, carston nicholai, and dale lawrence) and the hypothetical performance it is documenting seems to just glide from start to finish. Also in heavy rotation right now.. background - Futurist Experiments Volume 4 (the submania and donnacho costello contributions are fantastic) naw - the resound of a foggy autumn dawn random inc. - walking through jerusalem ~g -- Greg Smith http://wwww.laiad.com "Apart from the voice and the faint sound of his breath there is no sound.
